Microsoft unveils new baby; Windows Phone 7

New York, Oct 12: The new 'giant' baby has born. Microsoft launched it's latest mobile operating system Windows Phone 7 on Monday, Oct 11 night in New York.
Buzz up!Microsoft expects that the Windows Phone 7 will dominate the rapidly expanding smartphone market which is controlled by Apple and Google Android. Microsoft aims to regain its lost shares in handset market, which is expected to overcome the sale of personal computers by 2014.
During the mega event Microsoft showcased smartphones running on Windows Phone 7 OS. These phones will be available on AT&T's network starting on Nov 8. Later these phones will also be available from T-Mobile and Verizon and Sprint.

The new features on Windows Phone 7 OS will allow users to personalize the look and feel of their phones. The new social networking features allow updates and messages from social hubs to appear automatically. It also provides Zune music and video content, the Bing search engine, Microsoft's OneNote software and Xbox gaming platform.
According to a research conducted by Nielsen, smartphones have a share of 23 percent of all mobile phones sold in the United States. Apple iOS leads the sales followed by Google Android and BlackBerry.
The market analysts predicted that 270m smartphones will be sold in 2010, up 56 percent than in 2009, and will grow to 875m by 2014.
