Bihar: Votes on Development Formula, Says Gadkari
Patna | Oct 21, 2010
BJP president Nitin Gadkari today said caste factor was relegated to the background while people voted for development as evident from the votes in 47 constituencies in the first phase in Bihar today.
"Formula of castes have been relegated to the background... People are voting this time following the development formula and it is good sign for the state and democracy", Gadkari told reporters here.
Asserting that people voted for the NDA nominees for development of the state in the first phase, and would continue to repose full faith in the NDA in other rounds of balloting in Bihar.
Stating that RJD president Lalu Prasad was facing the toughest electoral battle, he said it was because of his being 'synonymous with destruction in place of development'.
Showering praise on the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy S K Modi, Gadkari said their relentless efforts had led to establishment of rule of law and had brought the state back on the tracks of development.
While the erstwhile RJD government with the support of the Congress provided patronage to the criminals for long, more than 45000 accused have been convicted because of the speedy trial that took place during the past five years after the NDA came to power in November 2005, he said.
