MADHUBANI (Bihar): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said he doesn't harbour any ambitions of becoming rich and is happy with the 'overwhelming' support of the people.

"There are people who harbour ambitions of becoming a rich man. I am extremely happy because I feel I enjoy an overwhelming people's support," Kumar said while addressing an election meeting at Parsauni in Madhubani district.

Stating that the wind of development has paced up in the state, he said that everyone is talking about Bihar's pattern of development.

"Once the state which was drowned in fear and terror, we are happy to tell at this stage that we have established the rule of law," he said adding over 50,000 criminals has been convicted ever since the NDA came to power in November 2005.

"We have done extensive works for the empowerment of women, upliftment of extremely backwards, mahadalits and also for the welfare of minority weavers," he said.

Reacting to his arch rival and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's statement that the LJP-RJD combine would arrange distribution of motorcycles for school-going children if they come to power and his "Ghoonghroo" remarks, Kumar said "politics is not the field for entertainment".

He said that without developing the 'Mithilanchal' regions, the state will not achieve its desired objectives of development and similarly, the country will not develop in the absence of Bihar's development.

Kumar said he was seeking vote for development alone and nothing more is required for him.

"Give me another chance to accomplish the unfinished task of development
