NHPC inks pact with Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority
FARIDABAD: The city-headquartered National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has inked an agreement with Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority, an authority set up by Royal Government of Bhutan to provide consultancy services for 720 MW power project in Bhutan.
As per as contractual terms, NHPC will provide the engineering and design consultancy services for the said project.
For the quarter ended December 31, 2010, the company has reported a decline of 48.30% in net profit to Rs 300.67 crore against Rs 581.61 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2009. Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 917.20 crore, declined 35.25% over Rs 1416.45 crore for the year ago period.
NHPC is owned by the Indian government. The enterprise is engaged in the planning, development and implementation of an integrated and efficient network of hydroelectric projects in India. From concept to commissioning, the enterprise executes all aspects of the development of hydroelectric projects.
