Because when we talk of selfless contribution to society, we always come up with Medha Patkar's name. Because people in the Narmada Valley are alive because of her. Because she could've chosen a fat salary and a cushy job instead, but wanted to do this. Because all over the country, when common people are in distress, their lands being snatched or their livelihoods compromised, Medha is there - whether it is the Narmada Valley, Singur, or Lavasa.
