Rahul is not wrong
There is an element of truth in what Rahul Gandhi said — that it is very difficult to prevent every single terror attack. What does it take to make a bomb? Ammonium nitrate, petroleum, detonator — all these are easily available. The Internet provides all the details. It takes a handful of men to carry out terror strikes. How can the government prevent three or four men acting independently? It is the neighbours who should report suspicious activities to the police. But we have a public and a media that only watch from the sidelines. Why blame the government?
The government cannot curtail acts of terror unless it curtails civil liberties to an extent. Do we want a Patriot Act in India? Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. But there is a thin line that divides vigilance and constructive criticism from opposition to everything.

No doubt, the government has the responsibility to protect us. But it can discharge its duty only when we join hands with it. We are very vigilant and cautious when it comes to protecting our personal property. Is not our country our personal property too? Think practically. Can we say what is going on behind our back without turning our eye towards it? Can the government or police look after everyone and monitor all the streets in the country? Let us believe in ourselves and take on our shoulders the responsibility of safeguarding our country. Look around more. Let us assume that we are policemen and it is our sole responsibility to protect our areas.

When you point a finger towards others, three fingers point towards you. Every citizen should be vigilant about the activities in his or her surroundings. But we hardly know even our neighbours.
J.J. Vellara,
He called a spade a spade. Terrorism is a national menace. Every city or village in India is vulnerable to terrorist attack. Not possible to watch each and everyone entering Javeri Bazar or Opera House .What was wrong with Rahul?
We have Kashmir, the bone of contention for the subcontinent. The terrorists are getting clandestine help and sometime open help from the ISI of Pakistan. Nobody is there to say anything. Nothing can be done for the years. BJP which has been in power saw Kandahar crisis. Nothing was done that time. Why blame Rahul only for telling the truth?
There are some people who always find fault with the members of the Gandhi Nehru family. They think that by speaking against the Nehru family and Indira Gandhi successors , they are doing a big revolution. One time Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal Jyoti Basu did not show respect for the widow of Rahul Gandhi. Later the CPI(M) begged favour of Soniaji for staying in the UPA coalition. They realised that the third front is a mirage with people like Mayavati and Chandrababu Naidu. The most short-sighted man in the Communist parties is Prakash Karat who lives in the fools' paradise. He by his foolish steps alienated the party from the National politics. Now the CPI(M) has become irrelevant and redundant in national scenario. Think of Sharad Pawar who always criticise Soniaji as one of foreign origin. But when he wants to be the BCCI President, he surrenders to her for getting her favour. Think of P.Sangma who for his daughter can stoop to Soniaji whom he insulted by calling her 'bideshini'. When Congress Party became non-existent it was Sonia and Rahul along with Priyanka campaigned all over India. She made the Congress strong and united. She gave the country a stability and regional politics is kept under control. So Rahul Gandhi cannot be dismissed as immature. He is the symbol of Indian dynasty politics. One may or may not accept but dynasty is still revered in India. Congress has democratised dynasty politics. A better way out is always a better option. But BJP which is communal in its thrust cannot be the alternative to Congress which depends on the Nehru family. Today Rahul should not be maligned simply because he is one of the Nehru family. Indira and Rajiv had made their sacrifices for the country. The members of these family are easy and soft targets of the terrorists. It is not a luxury for Rahul to nourish the hope of being Prime Minister. It is sometimes a necessity for the Congress and to some extent a need for the Nation itself. What Rahul Gandhi has said about terrorism is not to be purposefully criticised but to be seriously understood in the light of broader perspectives. It may be an exaggeration , but exaggeration of a vital truth that no part of the country is safe today. We should be alert all the time everywhere.
