Vengsarkar: Yuvraj is out of form

Former chairman selector Dilip Vengsarkar has backed the decision of dropping Yuvraj Singh from the Indian squad for the upcoming Test series against Australia.

“No doubt, Yuvraj is a fantastic player, but he is out of form.” he claimed.
“On the other hand, Pujara is a player in form. He must get a look in. He is a wonderful player” he added.
When asked about the upcoming talent as well as other prospects for the Indian team, Vengsarkar said: “I would like to put in Umesh Yadav and Jaidev Unadkant. They grabbed a lot of wickets for their domestic sides” he said.
“Sreesanth is really lucky to be in the team. He has been inconsistent in the past. But, we have faith in him. He will come good.” Vengsarkar said, when asked about Sreesanth’s return to the Indian squad.
When asked about Praveen Kumar’s Test debut, he said: “Praveen is a fantastic all rounder. It was about time he was handed his Test debut.”
