President Obama is spending the second day of his Midwest economic bus tour in Iowa focusing on rural jobs and the economy, starting with a surprise stop for breakfast with small business owners.

Following a quick morning workout at the Team Rehab gym in Decorah, President Obama was off and rolling through Iowa en route to Peosta. The president’s 26-vehicle motorcade passed through Garnavillo and Calmar, before stopping in Guttenberg, Iowa, for breakfast at Rausch’s Cafe.

After glad-handing with the crowd gathered outside the cafe, the president enjoyed a breakfast of eggs and toast with five small business owners, representing industries ranging from IT to agriculture.

The breakfast was “an opportunity for the president to hear directly from rural small business owners about their experiences and highlight the steps his administration has taken to assist them, including the new jobs initiatives announced today,” according to the White House.

The president is now rolling to Peosta, Iowa, for the White House Rural Economic Forum, where Obama is expected to announce several initiatives aimed at boosting rural economic growth.
