Mamata Banerjee to deliver lecture at Cambridge
If Lalu Prasad went to Massachusetts and Harvard, Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee will go to Cambridge University — to deliver lectures. Banerjee will talk about India’s rise as an economic superpower.
On October 25, Banerjee will deliver a lecture, titled 'The Rising Power', at the Cambridge University -currently number one as per the QS world University rankings. This will be her first foreign trip as Union Railway Minister.
The occasion will be the inauguration of a new wing in the Political Science department of the 800-year-old university.
"The first invitation came last year, after the Lok Sabha elections," said Ratan Mukherjee, Mamata's personal assistant. "Since then, she has been invited several times, but could not make it because of political commitments."
