In a strong signal to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa that he continues to be on the party leadership's radar, senior BJP leader L K Advani on Thursday said he was “concerned” about the developments in Karnataka and pointed out that the party was “dealing with it”.

The BJP leadership had only a week ago allowed the Karnataka Chief Minister — who is facing charges of nepotism — to continue, and Advani’s assertion that the party was dealing with the matter indicated that the chapter had not been closed. “We are dealing with it and we are confident that we will deal with it,” Advani said.

The reprieve given to Yeddyurappa had led to criticism that the party practised double standards on the issue of corruption, considerably weakening its fight against the UPA. Many top leaders in the party are also said to be unhappy with the decision since they feel the breather given to the Chief Minister has taken off the sheen of its attack against the Congress.
