Years 1963 and 1964 saw poor and uneven monsoon all over India so the government of india had to take some steps to prevent another famine prone year... so the green revolution was the ultimate solution then.

I think Harit Kranti once increased crop production of India. But for increasing production Chemical fertilizers were used which later reduced the fertility of the lands and now Indian Farmers are living in very pity condition unlike as they were before freedom. Even now we are using such fertilizers, which also not even good for health, isn't it?
Will it not be good to use some natural fertilizers like earlier. Is urea really good?
