Julia Roberts on Hinduism, Botox
Hollywood star Julia Roberts reveals that she has been practising Hinduism after filming her new movie "Eat, Pray and Love" in India.
The 42-year-old admits she regularly goes to temple to "chant and pray and celebrate" with her three children and husband cameraman Daniel Moder, reports dailymail.co.uk.
She said: "I'm definitely a practising Hindu. Golly, I've been so spoiled with my friends and family in this life. Next time I want to be just something quiet and supporting."
In the film, Roberts plays a woman hoping to find herself through Hindu spirituality.
The actress caused controversy in India last September when local Hindus were barred from celebrating an important religious festival while she shot scenes for the film in their temple on the outskirts of New Delhi.
Villagers hoping to mark the beginning of Navratri, nine days of worship of their Goddess Durga, at Ashram Hari Mandir in Haryana, found their temple sealed by Roberts's vast security team of 350 guards, bulletproof cars and a helicopter.
"Eat, Pray, Love" is a big screen adaptation of the bestselling memoir of the same name by Elizabeth Gilbert.
Pretty Woman not a Botox fan
On the topic of Botox, Julia is clear - she's not a fan as she thinks Botox takes away the reality quotient and leaves the face look frozen, expressionless.
The 42-year-old who is the face of French cosmetic company Lancome doesn't want to experience the wrinkle-smoothing injections which leaves people with frozen-looking faces because she wants her children to be able to understand her expressions.
"It's unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don't even give themselves a chance to see what they'll look like as an older person," contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.
"I want to have some idea of what I'll look like before I start cleaning the slates. I want my kids to know when I'm p***ed, when I'm happy, and when I'm confounded. Your face tells a story and it shouldn't be a story about your drive to the doctor's office," she added.
Julia has three kids, five-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and son Henry, three, with her cameraman husband Daniel Moder.
